Richard's CD L'Orgue Symphonique was released by Resonus Classics in October. Celebrating the 50th birthday of the fine Harrison and Harrison organ of St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, this CD showcases Louis Vierne's 2nd Symphonie, Jean Roger-Ducasse's Pastorale and the Suite Op. 5 of Maurice Duruflé.
The CD has already attracted favourable reviews, including this from Organists Review:
Richard Pinel's exemplary playing is in itself a benchmark exercise. For a mere instance, I know of no finer reading on disc of the lusciously languid Cantabile from the second (and best) of Vierne's six organ symphonies. Proof that it is often in the subtleties, and not the barnstorming forays, that we discover a player's true musicality. However, when panache is required, Pinel can produce it with sizzling effect.
