The Choirs of the Chapels Royal and Windsor's own St George's Chapel will combine for the first time to present works from the Coronation paired with choral favourites and little known gems. Traditional items such as Handel's Zadok the Priest and Parry's I was Glad will be performed with pieces commissioned for the Coronation by leading composers of the day including William Walton's Coronation Te Deum.
At the suggestion of Vaughan Williams, and the approval of the The Queen, an arrangement of the hymn Old Hundredth was included as a congregational item in the proceedings. Participate in the celebration as we recreate this aspect of the 1953 service.
A unique occasion and the perfect way to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen and the 60thanniversary of her Coronation.
News Just In: This concert will be recorded by Classic FM for broadcast on 4th October at 8pm
